Managing Director: Kevin Chaplin

My name is Kevin Chaplin. I have been MD of the Amy Biehl Foundation since the end of 2006. I am passionate about the organization and our work with the youth. I grew up in KwaZulu Natal, spent 10 years in Gauteng before moving to Cape Town in 2000. I am married to Robyn and have 2 daughters, Sarah and Kirsty. I enjoy quality time with my family, nature, game reserves, travel, reading as well as public speaking. I have a BComm degree majoring in Accounts and Business Economics from UNISA as well as an Associate Diploma in Banking and the UCT Graduate School of Business Executive Management Development Programme. I am also  Managing Director of the South African Ubuntu Foundation. I  was previously Provincial Manager, First National Bank Western Cape and prior to that  Sales and Service Director Cape Town, Director Human Resources & Admin FNB First Commerce Gauteng and National Industrial Relations Manager.  I am a Board Member of : National Business Intitiative, Eluthandweni Homes for Aids Orphans, Nants’Ingqayi Women’s Empowerment Group, Amy Biehl Foundation Trust and SA Ubuntu Foundation Trust. I am Patron of Cape Kidney Association. My previous Directorships included : Business Against Crime – National Board and Chairman of Western Cape, Paediatric HIV Foundation, Western Cape Education Foundation, Ikamva Labantu, Fairest Cape Association and Executive Committee Member of Business Arts SA.

My name is Ilchen.  I am PR, Events & Fundraising Manager and my role includes events, donations, proposals, fundraising, media, public relations, social media and more.  I love reading murder mysteries and books from the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.  I also like to paint, go to the movies and sailing when I get the chance.

Team Building
On Friday 5 March 2010 the staff of the foundation had a team building session. The event was sponsored by DreamTeam and Atlantic Beach Golf Club. It turned out to be a wonderful day in which fun and educational tools were mixed. The staff were all very enthusiastic about the session. Here are some pictures:
